DRAFT – random lake hs story

Recently, I had the chance to speak with Grace Jentsch, a freshman at Random Lake High School in rural Wisconsin, (Fun fact about Random Lake High School is built on what used to be a swamp) about all of the awesome projects her and her Action Team, the Random Lake Science Club, have been taking on. But first, a bit of background about Random Lake and Grace her self.
Random Lake High School is located in rural Wisconsin, a place where many of the families are either dairy or cattle farmers. Because of this, the community members already have a deep understand of the nature and natural resources around them and the Science Club integrates community members into many of it’s projects and events.
Grace, a charismatic and highly motivated freshman who’s father is a passionate greenhouse gardener and who’s uncle owns a cattle farm near by, said that while she is involved with pretty much every club on campus, she was initially drawn to the Science Club because of her passion for gardening, the outdoors and living a healthy and active lifestyle. To her, being a member of the Science Club is important because it promotes a healthy community mentality. Grace recognizes that actions in communities
