“Music can change the world because it can change people.”

– Bono, U2

Most of us have had the opportunity to see a great concert at some point in our lives.  Music touches our lives and inspires us in an indescribable way – it connects people to place and people to one another.   Though it can be an amazing experience to be a concert-goer, there are some associated consequences with large concerts that can sometimes go unnoticed.

When large groups of people congregate to see a show, they often leave a big mess behind.  Lots of venues in the past haven’t had access to recycling or education about sustainability – causing detriment to the region and contributing to climate change.

Of course, when you’re at a great concert, it can be difficult to focus on anything but the music.  Thankfully, there are organizations like ACE Partner, Reverb, out there to help us be more environmentally conscious fans!   “Deeply rooted within the music and environmental communities, Reverb educates and engages musicians and their fans to take action toward a more sustainable future.”

Right now, Reverb and ACE are on-tour with Sheryl Crow!   The ACE | Chicago Team had the pleasure of hanging out with fans in the Eco-Village at Ravinia Park.  We provided fans with education about climate change, showed them how they could pitch in to stop it by pledging their DOT, and even had time to check out the show.

Do you have any great concerts coming to your neighborhood?  There’s a good chance Reverb will be there.  Make sure to check them out!
