ACE Chicago had the unique opportunity of presenting with the likes of Chevy Chase and Mayor Daley at Al Raby High School for Community and Environment in Garfield Park yesterday – it was off-the-hook! Al Raby is the very first “Green Community School” in Chicago and they are kick-starting a revolution to crush climate change.
Chevy Chase and his wife, Jayni, came to celebrate this amazing day, and to see the climate projects that Al Raby’s finest Seniors were presenting.
ACE jump-started the day with an all-school-assembly to remember. We were followed by the funny-man himself, Chevy Chase! He introduced his wife, the always-impressive climate hero, Jayni Chase. Jayni is an avid environmentalist and works closely with ACE Chicago Local Partner, the MGR Foundation. Go here to volunteer.
Last up, Mayor of Chicago & Green Machine, Richard Daley, spoke to the Garfield Park students about the importance of environmental education.
The day came to a close with Al Raby students and staff sharing DOTs with the Chases, Seniors proudly presenting their tricked-out climate projects to Mayor Daley, and ACE | Chicago putting the youth climate change movement on the map in the Midwest!
