In 2021 when Katya first learned about ACE, she was immediately inspired and wanted to be a part of their climate action programs. Founding an Action Team, ACE Prosper, she has been working consistently to lead a group of young people to take collective action to call out the injustice in the climate system. From organizing a collective speech urging the Town of Prosper to declare a climate emergency to MCing in an Austin climate rally, she has been involved in various parts of the climate justice movement.

Her passion for the environment began when she was just a kid learning how to garden or recycle. As she grew up- she started realizing the devastating impacts climate change had on the environment. From almost having to evacuate because of threatening wildfires in CA to experiencing the record breaking heat temperatures in TX, she has been at the forefront of the climate emergency. Katya has also been working with other environmental coalitions such as volunteering with Greenpeace and the Rainforest Action Network to stop a dangerous pipeline, Trans Mountain, from expanding.

Katya is currently a high school student in the graduating class of 2025 and aspires to major in political science and environmental studies. In the future, she hopes to work with politicians and governmental officials to pass powerful and equitable bills and legislation. In her free time, Katya enjoys running, hiking with her friends, reading books, and being with her family.
