So by now, you’ve heard how much fun our assemblies are but did you know that the REAL fun starts once the lights go up and the presentation ends?!

TheĀ LA team stayed after our presentation at Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy in La Canada and here’s what the girls had to say:

Those fires in La Canada that DeShawn mentions, were major! After fighting the Station fire for more than 52 days the U.S. Forest Service announced on Friday that the 250 square mile blaze is finally contained. Two firefighters lost their lives during the blaze and 89 homes were lost.

Here’s a photo taken just a few miles up the highway from Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy during the height of the fire:

Los Angeles residents and FSHA students don’t need to be told about the ash that rained down for weeks, or waking up coughing to the smell of smoke coming in through your closed bedroom window – but just in case you didn’t get to witness it here is what the fire and smoke looked like hanging over L.A.

By night you could really see the line of fire stretching along the mountains…

Like the ladies of FSHA said – we don’t have any time to waste!
