Jariel is a dedicated climate activist and community leader based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a former ACE action-team lead, current Youth Advisor to the ACE Board, and member of ACE’s Youth Advisory Board, he has been deeply involved in environmental advocacy and civic engagement.
Jariel’s journey with ACE began in 2021 when he joined his high school’s ACE chapter. He quickly became a driving force within the group, leading initiatives to integrate climate activism and civic engagement into the school community. His commitment to environmental justice has led him to participate in local, state, and national actions. He has organized silent protests, joined regional actions in Milwaukee, and advocated for the closure of the Line 5 pipeline in Wisconsin. Jariel has also had the opportunity to lobby elected officials in Madison and Washington, D.C., even meeting President Biden and discussing his work with ACE.
Jariel’s passion for fighting climate change and building a sustainable future has earned him significant recognition. He has been interviewed by various media outlets and was awarded the Green Student of the Year Award at Milwaukee’s seventh annual Green & Healthy Schools Conference. Known for his intersectional approach to climate activism and his positive attitude, Jariel empowers those around him through his tireless efforts.
Through his involvement with ACE, Jariel has developed a wide range of skills, including social media training, organizing, communication, and lobbying. He is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in Social Justice & Civic Engagement at Dominican University, with aspirations of a career in government. In his free time, Jariel enjoys spending time outdoors, walking, singing, reading, and watching his favorite TV show, Law & Order SVU.
