Youth Advisory Board Members Join ACE’s Board of Directors

ACE is proud to introduce the newest members of our Board of Directors, Gemma Gutierrez, and Leilina Patel! If they look familiar, that’s because they are also members of the Youth Advisory Board (YAB). ACE is committed to providing opportunities for youth to be engaged in growth, strategy, and development. We rely on youth leadership for campaign creation, coalition building, and mobilization efforts. After reflecting on our Board of Directors’ makeup, it was evident that to break down the silo between the Board and YAB was to create space for members of YAB on the Board.

Bringing Back Our Climate Our Future Live

In 2008, before ACE became Action for the Climate Emergency and back when we were Alliance for Climate Education, our primary objective was to educate as many high school students as possible about the climate crisis by going to schools and delivering assemblies. We visited schools all across the country: Sacramento, Las Vegas, Chicago, Dallas, New York, Cincinnati, New York City, Boston and more. In just a few short years, we had reached 2 million students with the ACE Assembly.

ACE INTERVIEW: Talulah Juniper on Youth Voices in Politics

Talulah Juniper is a 17-year-old Junior at Sonoma Academy in Sonoma County. She started doing climate action work when she was in about 6th grade because it seemed to be the only logical step for her after hearing about the climate crisis and seeing the direct damage it had inflicted around them.
