Shaniqua is ACE’s Associate Director, Renewables Advocacy. She plays a pivotal role focused on accelerating the deployment of utility-scale clean energy, particularly in rural communities across the US.. Prior to ACE, she pursued a master’s degree in Urban Planning with a concentration in Community development at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Her passions for community, social justice, and equity led her to a career as a community organizer in reproductive justice with Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan. Her work there included supporting local advocates and engaging local elected officials to build momentum and mobilize communities.  

Particularly focused on underserved communities, Shaniqua spent the last 5 years in Detroit but was born and raised in Cleveland. She is excited to return to the city where her love for social justice and community engagement began.
