Rony was born in Damascus, Syria, and moved to the United States when he was very young. He attends Cardinal Gibbons High School where he enjoys playing football. When asked about why he cares about climate change, Rony says, “This isn’t just our planet. It’s our home, and like all homes, there are arguments and conflicts, but nevertheless, it’s still our home. The home we grew up on and the home we made countless memories on. We need to take care of our future and no one can better our future but us. If not us, then who?” The thing Rony is looking forward to the most from the Fellowship is getting to meet new people who are just as excited to tackle climate change together.
