Kaniyah Purcell is from Chapel Hill, North Carolina and is ready to make a change. She is in the 10th grade at Chapel Hill High School where she is a cheerleader. She also has a passion for drawing, painting, cooking, and more!
Kaniyah cares deeply about climate change and how it is affecting not only the U.S., but the world. She has been an ACE Action Fellow in North Carolina since 2017 and currently serves as a Senior Action Fellow. She joined ACE’s Fellowship because she wants to encourage other youth to become more aware of climate change and of the ways that corrupt businesses promise more climate friendly innovations yet never go through with those plans. Kaniyah thinks that it is important for young people to get involved in climate solutions because it is her generation that will be hit the hardest, yet it is her generation that often doesn’t get a say in what happens. Kaniyah wants to make a change in the world, one reusable straw at a time.
