Annie Qin is a sophomore at East Chapel Hill High School in Chapel Hill, NC and has been an ACE Action Fellow since 2017. Annie was first introduced to the ACE Fellowship Program through a summer camp, called Energy LEAP, that was focused on climate change. During her first year an ACE Action Fellow, Annie experienced large improvement in her leadership, communication, and organizational skills (among many others). She currently serves as a Senior Action Fellow and a member of ACE’s Youth Fundraising Advisory Board.

Annie has held leadership positions in various clubs at East Chapel Hill High School, including founding a club called LifeSmarts, and a club called GirlUp, which encourages more women to join STEM fields. She also plays the piano and swims for her school. Annie enjoys puzzles and spending time with family and friends.

Annie believes that climate change is something that affects everyone in the world, whether indirectly or directly . Every small action that may impact the Earth will impact all of us and climate change is something that should matter to everyone. She is most interested in renewable energy and how it can be made accessible for everyone. Annie believes that climate change deserves more awareness and concern. While the world may not see immediate results, there will be significant benefits for future generations if humans start taking care of their planet.
