We #DefendDreamers feat

ACE stands with all young people – regardless of their immigration status. Whether it’s supporting their leadership to demand responsible, equitable climate policies from our elected officials, or fighting for the rights of the 800,000 Dreamers who could be deported from the only country they’ve ever known – we stand with young people from all backgrounds, races, gender identities, origins and abilities to demand justice.

Over the years, ACE has supported the leadership of many Dreamers in the ACE network and across the climate movement. And, we want every Dreamer that we’ve worked with to know that we support you now more than ever.

We believe the choice to end Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) is shortsighted and cruel. Why? The average DACA recipient is 26 years old and came to the United States in early childhood, 90% of DACA recipients are employed, and economists agree that an immediate repeal of DACA will cost the United States more than $450 billion in lost revenue. With no justifiable economic or security reason to end DACA, it’s clear that the motivation to end this program is rooted in systems of institutional racism and oppression.

We defend every young person reeling from the effects of this reckless decision and we ask that you join us in supporting them.

Please #DefendDreamers and #DefendDACA by calling Congress and attending a local event near you.

In solidarity,

The ACE Team
