Yasmin was born in Raleigh, North Carolina and currently attends Cary High School as a senior. Her parents are from Mexico, and she is passionate about climate change because she wants to protect her family, friends and also animals from the impacts.

She often thinks about her future, as well as the future of her children, and how they’ll be the ones to pay the consequences if we don’t quickly change the outcome. For Yasmin, it’s important to let people know how their daily behaviors affect the world around them, making the connection between our lifestyle choices and climate change. In her spare time, Yasmin enjoys playing soccer, drawing, and being part of an extracurricular graduate program after school.
