Senith Berhane
Action Fellow Alumni
North Carolina
Senith lives in Durham, North Carolina. She became interested in climate change when at eleven, she volunteered at a local park and realized the negative effects of pollution. Senith realized the beauty of nature was minimized due to human activity. She learned that many people aren’t even aware of the negative impact they put on the environment. Since then she has regularly volunteered with environmental issues around Durham. She was recently involved with restoring Eno River state park. Senith logged over seventy volunteer hours restoring the park and is continuing to help out with more parks nearby.
Senith goes to Riverside High School. She is on her school’s tennis and soccer team. She is a part of many clubs at her school including Habitat for Humanity, Creative Food Drive, Student Government and is president of UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund) chapter of her school. She is also on youth council at her church, a girl scout, works as a lifeguard, and is president of EYG (Eritrean Youth Group). When she isn’t busy with school and extracurricular activities, you can find her hanging out with friends, searching for old records at record stores, and binge watching on Netflix.
