Selin is currently an avid climate change activist! She is hoping to make a difference in her community, along with helping those around her. Selin is currently a Junior at Lake Nona High School, where she enjoys taking AP classes, along with her extra curriculars. Selin prides herself on being one of the Vice Presidents for her Student Body this year, along with many other leadership positions. She is currently on the leadership board with 2 other clubs and hopes to join many more! Selin is also a player for her school’a lacrosse team! Selin enjoyed volunteering at the VA Hospital before the Covid-19 outbreak, and she hopes to continue volunteer there after the pandemic. Her main reason for joining ACE was to bring much more awareness to what’s going on in the world. She realizes that the youth of today needs a much larger voice and she hopes to be one of the many helping to make sure they are heard. Selin sees how her classmates and, many students she’s spoken with, have been advocating for climate change, whether it’s through an instagram post or through a retweet on twitter. All in all, her goal is to simply make the world a better place. Selin is extremely excited to see how she is able to bring leadership into this internship in order to most effectively bring forth the subject of climate change to all. She enjoys doing research on different, more affordable alternatives to affordable ways to compact climate change, such as smaller and portable solar panels, in order to help those who have been the most affected. Selin is so thankful for being accepted into this internship and she’s hoping that she can make the best of it!
