Kyra Zamborsky
Fellow
Pennsylvania
Kyra Zamborsky is going into her senior year at Upper Dublin High School. She loves reading, listening to music, hanging out with her friends, and drinking coffee. In her community, Kyra is involved in political campaigns, school clubs, and sports. Kyra has gained experience in leading and working with a team through being involved in her high school’s Mini-THON. This year, Kyra is the co-head chair of Upper Dublin’s Mini-THON, and she cannot wait to raise more money in the fight against pediatric cancer.
She joined the fellowship to learn more about the challenges facing our planet an how she can help be a part of the solution. Her interest in climate action started when she was a part of Upper Dublin’s first ever Environmental PBL Class. In this class Kyra, and 14, other students designed a green building for their community. Climate change is also important issue to her, because of her interests in social activism and politics. In climate action, she is most interested in climate and environmental justice. Social and environmental justice issues are intertwined, and she believes steps must be taken to address and educate the public on those issues. When asked why climate change is in important to her, she says, “I care about this planet, do you?”
