Imani Reid
Action Fellow
North Carolina
Imani Reid is from Charlotte, North Carolina. She attends Harding University High School, and a member of the IB program. She is active both in and outside her community. In school, Imani is student body vice president, member of the International French Honor Society, and member of CIS Dream Makers, TRIOS, Interactive club, French club, a student-led organization “Our Turn” and MeckEd. Outside of school, Imani spends one Saturday a month participating in Wake Forest’s College Launch Program. Before COVID-19, she also had two internships with one of them being a paid Discovery Place volunteer. In her downtime, Imani blogs on her website, thrifts and alters clothing, practices yoga and spirituality, sketches, and practices her photography.
Imani is a political science activist who joined the ACE community to explore her interest in climate change activism. Imani first became aware of this issue in 2016, and ever since then, she grew passionate about educating people and creating awareness and support. Environmental activism became important to her because she realized this is something bigger than us. It’s still something we have an influence over, whether it’s a negative or a positive influence. She wanted to join the Fellowship to connect with and experience other people who are passionate about this, because of this she looks forward to being a part of a movement. Imani values change, the mother, and its children.
