Kaymel Fields

Kaymel Fields, youth climate leader and senior at the Brooklyn School for Collaborative Studies, is attending PowerShift 2013 on a full scholarship provided by the Alliance for Climate Education.

He was recently featured in the Countdown to PowerShift 2013

He’ll use the skills gained at PowerShift to spark climate action in NYC upon his return.

Q. Kaymel, tell us a little about yourself and why you’re excited to attend PowerShift, the largest youth convergence of climate and energy-focused youth?

“My name is Kaymel Fields, I’m from Red-hook Brooklyn, and I’ve lived in New York my whole life. I feel honored to be able to attend PowerShift–it makes me feel empowered as a student.

I’m hoping to absorb as much as possible from my experience. ‘We all ask questions, but the answer is within every question we ask.’

You can take action, and then that one action can spark the minds of others. Little do we know that’s the first step of change…”
