February 16, 2013

Maya Webster, a 9th grade student at Maynard Jackson High School in Atlanta, participated in her school’s Global Consciousness Symposium and Dance Exhibition of Student Choreography. The event took place on Thursday, February 7th, 2013 and several students, parents and community members were in attendance. In preparation for the event, students were instructed to choreograph a dance that reflected a global issue that was important to them. Maya was inspired to choreograph a dance on climate change after viewing the ACE Assembly and understanding the importance of reducing our CO2 emissions and curbing global warming. “We need to take action to reverse the effects of climate change and that is something I feel very strongly about,” says Maya.
