Announcing new members: ACE Board of Directors

Today, I am thrilled to announce the appointments of three new board members: Maggie Fox, Brian Beitner and Lisa Hoyos. They join a passionate and committed board
 that
 oversees
 ACE’s strategy, finances and operations.

Their unique strengths and experience will help realize ACE’s mission: to educate young people on the science of climate change and empower them to take action. Read below to learn more:

Announcing new members- ACE Board of Directors 2 Maggie Fox is a consultant serving organizations, foundations and communities in the development and implementation of 21st-century climate change and clean energy strategies. She is a veteran of numerous local, state, national and international environmental, political, legal and policy campaigns. Maggie is past President and CEO of the Climate Reality Project and the Climate Action Fund, which run global campaigns training citizen leaders driving action on climate. She was the national President of America Votes, as well as the Southwest Regional Director and Deputy Executive Director of the Sierra Club.

Announcing new members- ACE Board of Directors 3 Brian Beitner formed the institutional global equity investment firm Chautauqua Capital Management in January 2009, following 28 years in the investment industry. His volunteer activities include a 17-year relationship with the Trust for Public Land as a national board member and co-chair of the California Advisory Board. In addition, he has served on the boards of the Dairy Center for the Arts and Wildlands Restoration Volunteers. He earned a B.S. in Public Affairs and an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California. He holds a certificate for Global Investing from INSEAD and received his CFA charter in 1989.

Announcing new members- ACE Board of Directors 4Lisa Hoyos is the co-founder of Climate Parents, a program of the Sierra Club that mobilizes parents and families for clean energy and climate solutions. She has been a campaigner in the labor and environmental movements for over twenty years, working with such organizations as the BlueGreen Alliance, the AFL-CIO, and Greenpeace. Lisa also served as a committee staffer to the California Senate Natural Resources Committee. In addition to serving on ACE’s board, she is a board member of the Labor Network for Sustainability and the California League of Conservation Voters.
