ACE just wrapped up our Spring 2012 Biggest Loser: Energy competition, where 98 schools all across the country competed against each other to see how many pounds of CO2 they could shed and how much money they could save their school in a 20 day period. You seriously won’t believe how much CO2 these all of these schools collectively saved: 155,000 pounds. Yeah, you read right, together 98 high schools saved 155,000 pounds of CO2 from entering the atmosphere.

While ACE’s main focus is on high schools, the Biggest Loser: Energy competition was open to middle schools as well. In fact, we even have a special prize just for the middle school who shed the most pounds of CO2.

So without further ado, the winner of the Spring 2012 Biggest Loser: Energy Middle School was…

Champion Middle School Action Team

In 15 days, the Champion Middle School Action Team saved their school in Stone Mountain, Georgia 3,693 pounds of CO2 and $274 in energy savings.

Incredible! We can’t wait to see what these guys will do when they get to high school.

Congratulations to the students, the faculty and the Action Team over at Champion Middle School! What a way to start your summer.

Are you a middle school interested in working together, taking action, greening up your school and possible prizes? We can’t wait to show you fall’s competition. Start thinking… resourcefully for next semester.
