This is the third installment of the Princeton Energy and Climate Scholars’ (PECS) daily blogs from the Rio+20 UN Conference on Sustainable Development. Check out the introductory blog post here.
Today, the PECS team headed outside the conference walls to the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, or PUC-Rio University, for a joint workshop with Brazilian students on how to build interdisciplinary experiences for students of sustainability.
It was inspiring to get to know the PUC-Rio students and realize just how much we have in common. All of us are searching for a way to make our education and future careers both fulfilling for ourselves and beneficial to others, and we found that interdisciplinary interactions have a big role to play in achieving that. After seeing the ways that interdisciplinary conversation can transcend both academic boundaries and international ones with our new friends at PUC-Rio, we can’t wait to watch the disciplines come together at the Rio+20 conference.
Check out our Day 2 video blog to learn about our workshop discussions and to hear some youth perspectives from the Southern Hemisphere!
