Laura Dang

We’re halfway through our summer contest – DOT Detectives – and Laura Dang from Sacramento is in the lead with the most DOT Detective cases closed and the most creative pictures to prove it.

However, six detectives successfully cracked all five cases, so we had to have a tiebreaker. The challenge: see who could capture the most DOTs in action in one picture.

Here is the winning tiebreaker photo…

Laura won a $25 iTunes gift certificate for her awesome work as the best Sherlock so far. Can you surpass her in your snooping abilities? There’s still time to win!

To enter the contest, just text SHERLOCK to 30644. You will get the daily cases texted to you. Visit the DOT Detective website here, or follow our Facebook page for the announcements of the missions every day!

If you are already participating, get out your magnifying glass and pull into the lead to win the $100 giftcard grand prize and be the top Sherlock of the summer. There’s still a week left!

P.S. Here’s a key to Laura’s DOTs providing by the leading detective herself:

1. At home I recycle bottles and cans and took home one of the extra recycle bins that our Interact Club gave out.
2. I use these notebooks that are made out of bananas!
3. I’m the president of the Environmental Club at my high school so I definitely rep the club!
4. I print papers back to back as much as I can to reduce the amount of paper.
5. Instead of using the brown paper bags for lunch I bought a lunch box.
6. Totes! I use them to carry almost everything, even my mom uses them for her groceries and lunch.
7. Tennis instead of video games. I love being active and being in the outdoors.
8. Plastic containers for my sandwich and fruits for meals instead of the plastic sandwich bags.
9. That’s my nectarine from a farmers market that they sell during the mornings in downtown Sacramento.
10. A 5 minute timer that sticks to the walls of my shower. On top it says ” Save Our Water!”
11. I unplug my cell phone charger, curling iron, & straightener plugs when I don’t use them.
12. Say goodbye to incandescent light bulbs and hello to the spiral CFLs.
13. Reusable bottles that I use for tennis, track, and other uses.
14.  My family has a few indoor plants that I water, they reduce CO2!
15. ACE wristbands!

Great job detectives, keep snooping and sending in those pics.
