Hey guys, recently I came across a fabulous new green fashion line called People Tree. And the face of this new line is Emma Watson; you know the cutie from Harry Potter! She adamantly explains that she is more than just “the face,” she is the creative advisor and a major contributor of the line – helping them decide what they do next.
The fashion line is almost a year old and it heavily supports Fair Trade and organic fashion. According to the website, 80 % of the collection uses 100% organic cotton. It is also made entirely by hand by Fair Trade groups including hand weaving, hand knitting, and hand embroidery.
Emma has been quoted to say that the line does not use chemicals or damage the environment. Fair Trade, in case you’re curious, is a widely popular organized social movement that aims to help producers in developing countries, meaning it helps provide poor workers with higher pay and better conditions. So far People Tree has assisted poor workers in countries like India, Nepal, and Bangladesh.
And what’s my take on this? Well, I visited the People Tree website and looked through the collections, and I think the clothes are adorable and totally wearable! But why believe me, check it out for yourself!
Do you know of any equally awesome clothing lines here in the US? If the answer is yes, please post them in the comments section, we wanna know about them!!
