
ASSOCIATE DATA DIRECTOR

Job Summary
The Associate Digital Data Director is primarily responsible for managing ACE’s databases, CRM and analytics and bringing the information in them together to provide breakthrough insights that would power our outreach among students, teachers and young people at large.
Key Responsibilities:
Database Management (50%)
- Oversee the data architecture of the organization by adding new components, streamlining components, automating pipelines, and monitoring for errors.
- Strategize and optimize Salesforce CRM and SQL database architecture, including managing objects/tables, workflows, managing automated data merging/cleaning, process builders and other administrative tasks
- Work with our Data Engineer to spot data anomalies and inaccuracies, take corrective and preventive measures and ensure process compliance with all stakeholders. Maintain our in-house data compliance tools and continually improve user experience.
- Work with our Data Engineer to design and implement table structures, relationships, integrations, and processes that capture and produce information to enable accurate decision making in our fundraising and digital engagement teams.
- Work with internal teams, contractors and third party services to create new data tracking processes, integrations and existing system updates
- Ensure all data ETL pipelines feed into a central location for a 360 degree view of our members and how they engage with us across our different properties.
Data Visualization & Analysis(20%)
- Bring together data from different sources to create user friendly interactive dashboards/reports.
- Explore data and actively uncover and disseminate and present insights to teams.
- Compile standard and ad hoc reports for internal teams and funders.
Team Management (30%)
- Manage a team of one Data Engineer and several contractors.
- Work with team members and leadership across the organization to help track and report relevant data.
- Ensure that tasks and capacity are matched and resource additional capacity as needed.
- Recruit, onboard and manage staff to meet departmental goals.
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate for this role will be excited to take on a challenge, self-motivated with oodles of initiative and persistence, and have the following experiences and skills sets:
- A minimum 2 years’ experience working with data related to digital engagement.
- At least two years’ of in-depth experience working with e-campaigning tools or CRMs like NGP/VAN, ActionKit, Engaging Networks or with large nonprofit databases like Salesforce NPSP or Raiser’s edge.
- Advanced Excel skills, including macros, pivot tables, nested formulas, and other amazing Excel secrets.
- A background writing and using SQL/R/Python for data management and support
- Demonstrates the curiosity to research/learn new tools and professional skills and stay on top of trends in data analytics.
- Has the ability to understand how an application is configured and its various downstream and upstream dependencies.
- Demonstrates excellent presentation and documentation skills
- Possesses strong analytical and communication skills
- Is passionate about climate justice and environmental protection.
- We have no formal education requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Salesforce CRM.
- Experience working in a non-profit setting.
- Professional certifications or training in Salesforce, database management, data reporting & analysis, fundraising basics, or related field(s).
- Troubleshoots challenges with patience and creativity.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Analytical and strategic mindset.
- Ability to adapt as necessary to fulfill additional roles, responsibilities, and opportunities in development programming as necessary.
- Passion for ACE’s mission and our work to educate young people on climate science and empower them to take action.
- Commitment toward equity and justice in philanthropy.

POSITION DETAILS
- Schedule: Full-time
- Annual salary range: $85,000-$100,000 commensurate with experience
