Kathryn is ACE’s Youth Organizing Director based in Raleigh, North Carolina. She supports ACE’s team of organizers in developing and implementing ACE’s education, youth organizing, and campaigns in key states across the country, and works to deepen the organization’s role and partnerships in the climate movement space. 

Prior to joining ACE in 2017, Kathryn worked with youth and their families in both public school systems and nonprofit organizations for over 11 years. In these roles, she supported and collaborated with young people, families, and community members to address issues of educational equity, health disparities, and immigrants’ rights. Her professional experience includes leadership development, community organizing, program management, nonprofit management, organizational development, and capacity building.

Kathryn has lived most of her life in Raleigh, North Carolina where she graduated from Peace College with B.A. degrees in Spanish and Liberal Studies with a concentration in Anthropology.  She completed her Masters in Social Work from UNC Chapel Hill with a concentration in Community, Management, and Policy Practice. 

Kathryn is committed to providing holistic and strengths based support to youth, to intergenerational work, and to building relationships and collective power across difference. She also loves eating, dancing, reading, and laughing (in no particular order) as well as spending time with her family, dog, 2 cats, and many goldfish.
