YouTube Live Stream Event on Climbing and Climate Change Featuring Kai Lightner and Paul Robinson, Hosted by Alliance for Climate Education

On Friday, March 11 at 4pm MST, the Alliance for Climate Education (ACE) will be hosting a live, interactive YouTube event with competitive rock climbers, Kai Lightner and Paul Robinson. Coordinated by ACE and VidFall, the event will feature Kai and Paul discussing climbing, climate change and environmental activism. The hour-long event will include prize giveaways, live Q&A chats with Kai and Paul and opportunities for participants to take action on climate change.

Kai and Paul have both established themselves as climbers and influential activists. At age 16, Kai Lightner has earned 10 National Championship titles, 3 Pan American Championship titles and numerous other awards. Outside of his sport, he was selected as one of NBC’s NBCBLK28, a selection of leaders working to defy stereotypes and redefine what it means to be Black in America today.

Paul Robinson, 28, is a nationally renowned boulderer. In 2008, he won the Men's Open American Bouldering National Championship. He has used his platform to highlight the relationship between the climbers and the environmental community, including the impacts of erosion, littering and other environmental degradation.

Participants in the event will be able to take action by joining ACE’s Get Loud Challenge, a groundbreaking youth climate action competition that will engage more than 500,000 youth across the United States. ACE launched the challenge in January, calling on young people to take highly visible online and offline actions to catapult the need for climate action into the spotlight.
