Kristen Birnie

Executive Assistant and Finance Manager

Kristen joined the ACE team in early 2022 as the Executive Assistant and Financial Manager and is based in Southern California. In this role, she assists the Executive Director with day-to-day functions including calendar management, meeting and event planning, and general administrative support. Financially she assists with the yearly audit, monthly financial reporting, and accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure a timely month-end close.

Kristen earned her B.A in Communication Studies from California State University, Long Beach and Certificate in Accounting from Coastline Community College in 2020. Prior to this role, she has worked as an Executive Assistant for multiple executives for 5+ years in a corporate setting. More recently she was in the role of accountant where she handled financial reporting, reconciliations, cash analysis reporting, A/P and A/R. In this role, she was working in a fast-paced environment at a start-up company and had to continually develop new processes and procedures to match the company’s rapid growth. 

In her free time, she enjoys traveling and the value that comes with meeting new types of people, learning different ways of living, and of course trying new foods. Living close to the coast she also spends her weekends either at the beach, on a hike, or just outside enjoying the lovely California weather.
