Dear Mr. President,
As young people across the country who are concerned about climate change, we want to thank you for taking bold action and rejecting the Keystone XL oil pipeline. We are inspired by your leadership.
On October 14, 2015, the People’s Climate Movement (PCM) brought together climate activists around the U.S. to stand together and demand action on climate change. In the Bay Area, the PCM provided an opportunity for ACE Action Fellows to take center stage at two different events and share the youth perspective.
Less solar means an increased reliance on burning fossil fuels for energy generation, bringing more pollution and negative health impacts to frontline communities near power plants.
On Tuesday, September 29th, six ACE Action Fellows gathered at the Massachusetts State House to make their voices heard at a public hearing on the future of energy policy in the state. Out of the hundreds of attendees, the Action Fellows were the only citizens offering a youth perspective at the hearing.
No matter where you live, you have probably heard about the drought in California. The last four years have been simultaneously the hottest and the driest four-year period on record. For many, the California drought is just another headline. But for Jonathan Rincon, a sophomore at UC Santa Barbara from Watsonville, CA, the drought is personal.
As thousands gather around the country today to demand climate action, our young leaders are taking center stage at rallies around the country to speak up for their future.
