This post is Adapted from a statement by active Team Marine member, Aubrey Dondick, Santa Monica High School, Class of 2014.
Team Marine, the champs who completed a their landmark study of the plastic bag ban in Santa Monica, was recently featured in an original documentary short by Jeneene Chatowsky about plastic pollution. This was an amazing opportunity to share with Jeneene, and the world, the information the Team had collected about plastic pollution and its effect on the marine environment.
Being a group of environmental scientists and activists, the members of Team Marine feel very strongly about plastic pollution. They study plastic pollution and spread awareness in as many ways as possible, via regular beach cleanups, water quality monitoring, and videos like the one below. Speaking in this video, as the youth, shows viewers how involved the Team members are in their community. Living at the beach influences their fight against plastic pollution and to save our seas!
