New Region Update: ACE NEW YORK
ACE Alumni
|February 12, 2010
So far, the NY ACE educators have presented at 3 schools, in 2 boroughs, and to over 1,000 students!
We started out at Science Technology and Research High in Brooklyn, where students jumped at the opportunity to start an ACE Action Team on campus. What an awesome school to host our first presentations! The students were welcoming and enthusiastic, quickly easing our first presentation jitters! Over 50 students have already joined S.T.A.R. High’s Action Team Facebook Cause!
After that we made it up to the Bronx, presenting at Fieldston School where they have a very environmentally active student body, and their very own green roof! Just this week (despite having a snow day in the middle) we presented at Believe Southside, Northside and Williamsburg Charter High School in Brooklyn, and we’re all set to present at Brooklyn Friends School tomorrow.
We are off to a great start! Students and teachers are matching our excitement about the ACE presentation and our new presence here in the New York Metropolitan area! We’re looking forward to reaching out to more schools in the coming months, and helping more and more NY/NJ high school students get connected to the ever growing youth climate movement!
