Climate Ride TipsGet in shape for Climate and ACE!

On May 19th, California cyclists rode their bikes for five days over 320 miles from Eureka to San Francisco to raise awareness and money, and to inspire other to work towards a greener future. This was for Climate Ride, an annual ride based in California and DC.  For weeks, these riders spent hours training and raising funds for their favorite climate organizations, many of whom chose ACE as a beneficiary.

Every year on the last leg of the California ride, ACE is always invited to bring our one-of-a-kind assembly to bring some inspiration to weary riders, ground them in the facts about climate change and celebrate their efforts to do something about it. ACE Educator AshEl Eldridge did just that. “The presentation on behalf of your organizations was one of the best presentations I’ve seen, bar none,” said ACE rider Satch Slavin, “he was super-dynamic, got people moving, thinking, and was super-inspiring. And the movies he brought were great. Just thought I’d let you know, we heard from lots of representatives of beneficiary organizations, and some really interesting inspiring stuff, and the presentation from you guys was head and shoulders above the rest.

There have been several beautiful photos and stories that came out of this year’s California ride. One excellent recap was done by Frankie Ridolfi (an ACE rider and our friend over at Free Range Graphics, creative partners on ACE’s presentation). You can also find more great pictures on Climate Ride’s blog (start at day 1) and Facebook.

In Redwood TreeMissed your chance to ride in California? You still have a couple of ways you can get involved and support ACE.

If you’re on the east coast, you can sign up to ride from New York City to Washington, DC in September. This five day ride runs from Manhattan, down the Atlantic coast, through farm land, rolling hills, and all the way to the Capitol. As a rider, don’t forget to join ACE’s team! No time to ride? No worries, you can always support ACE’s team headed by ACE Educator & team leader Rouwenna Lamm.

Rouwenna’s motivations to ride are quite simple, “I am excited to ride in Climate Ride this year to help share ACE’s work, to raise awareness about the important work we, and other organizations and individuals around the country, are doing to fight climate change, and to inspire more people to support the work we are doing at ACE.”

Please help support the ACE team for this year’s DC ride, as a rider or supporter. You can make a difference in pushing climate forward for both ACE and the movement.
