Imagine there’s no plastic pollution
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no pollution, too

Imagine all the beings

No need for wildlife entanglement
A safe haven for animals

Imagine all the inhabitants
Sharing all the ocean

Hi everyone! This is Athman from California. I’m leading a nationwide environmental service project called Bags Gag.

The mission of Bags Gag is to:

·       Raise awareness on the harmful effects of plastic bags

·       Promote the use of reusable bags.

·       Collect online pledges for not using plastic bags.

Here are a couple of reasons you should care:

Over 100,000 marine animals die every year from plastic entanglement!  I think this is an important issue that we all should pay attention to more.

Did you know that there’s a large garbage patch in the middle of the ocean called the Great Pacific Gyre, aka Garbage Patch, that’s twice the size of Texas?

Plastic bags travel from different parts of the world and they land in the same place – the garbage patch.  Below is a picture of a fisherman in this disgusting mess:

Together, we can rid our world of plastic. The best we can do now, is not add any more to this gyre. If you want to make a big difference, be a part of Bags Gag! Become a regional leader!
