A Foldable Car?

As we’ve mentioned a few times before, green design is a trendy topic among environmentalists. It’s a way to merge eco-friendliness with good, innovative design while keeping on top of the trends.
Between the electric car company Tesla and other companies that are bringing smart cars to the US on a more widespread level, green cars are currently all the rage. These cars definitely make sense in cities where parking spaces are limited and where it may not always be safe to ride your bicycle.
Leave it to the smarty-pants at MIT to be in the development stages of another option for cruising around the city- a tiny, foldable, four-wheeled vehicle that is powered by a single electric engine. Woah, backup, a foldable car? Yep, and the wheels can rotate a full 360 degrees, perfect for those of us whose parallel parking skills are eh, less than par.
These cool little cars, dubbed Hiriko, are first being launched in select European cities in 2013. We’ll have to wait to find out which ones, but in the meantime, watch out for more information on these fun cruisers!
