Snowman and Snowdog
ACE’s Green Holiday Mini Poem Texting Contest was a total success! We had over 1,000 texted-in responses, and the entire ACE staff had fun voting on our favorites. So, without further ado, here are the top 4 poems. The winners all receive a Target Gift Card. Congrats!
It’s okay to be a scrooge, you can show a little greed,
save your money, the planets in need!
There’s a new movement that you can help lead,
and ACE is here to help us succeed!
So this holiday season, choose to be green.
Help save our earth, that’s a good enough reason!
– By Claire, Junior at Rockdale Magnet High School
It is now that time of year where we must all spread holiday cheer.
Eating laughing and lots of fun,
you always wonder what to get someone.
Why wonder what a gift is worth,
when the best gift of all is to save our earth!
Come New Years we must make a goal,
so we can start off the year on a roll.
Why not try changing your routine?
It can help a lot to just stay green!
– By Amy, Senior at Anderson High School
Tis the season to be jolly
Do not fill your season with folly
Recycle, reuse and conserve
Give the earth what it deserves
The gift of health is all the best
Put sustainable living to the test
You,one person can give a gift to all
To those who have aged and those who crawl
Go green for your sake and mine
In holiday spirit be benign
-Yasmin, Senior at Lynn Classic High School
Twas a cold, frosty, and winter night
The Christmas tree sure was a beautiful sight
Stocking hung above the milk in a paper cup
Snow blasting around the recycling truck
The plastic recycled going green all around
Santa loves cookies as he swallows them down.
Then next morning with excitement and children’s laughter
Drinking eggnog- Dont forget to recycle the carton after!
Going to grandma’s how fun it’ll be
Did I mention? We have a recyclable tree.
I see my cousins and siblings playing with toys
Recycling from all the good girls and good boys.
Spend your holiday being nice and certainly not mean
but always spend your life being green!
