Earth

By Jay, student at Thomas S. Wootton High School in Rockville, MD

Our Action Team recently introduced five ways to take initiative to save the Earth and we made an acronym, the E.A.R.T.H., to make them easy to remember:

5 Things to Make an Impact (E.A.R.T.H.) :

1. Expand your knowledge. The more information you acquire, the better picture you get of the problem.

2. Activate your passion. One good spark is enough to get you started. Read a book. Watch a documentary. These are all excellent sources of ignition. Once you are inspired, develop your own goal to address the problem.

3. Realize your idea. Meticulous and early planning will get your idea across more successfully.

4. Transmit your cause. Inspire others to do something to solve the problem by raising your voice and spreading your cause.

5. Hone your skill through experience. After an event or a project, evaluate how effective it was and think of ways to improve it.

We’re very excited to share our successful story with other teens around D.C. and inspire them to take a similar leap forward to protect their immediate surroundings. Here is a link to a newsletter with more of our story. Thanks!
