At DoSomething.org, we believe that teens have what it takes to fight climate change—and win! That’s why DoSomething.org has teamed up with HP for Green Your School Challenge. From February 1st to April 1st, students across the nation are working on projects in their schools for the chance to win grants and awesome prizes from HP. Think you have what it takes? We do! Join the fight:

GET STARTED

So you’re on board—awesome! Now, how are you going to take action? First things first, register your school online. Don’t wait too long… the first 200 schools to sign up online will receive a FREE starter kit including pens, stickers, and other cool campaign swag! Then, stay connected and text GREEN to 30644.

By doing so, you’ll be eligible for mobile mini-contests and we’ll keep you updated on all the campaign details. (Don’t worry, we promise not to share your number.)

Now, what’s your plan? Think about what you can do at your school to make your campus more eco-friendly. Check out what other schools are doing, like the teens at Millburn Senior High. And don’t forget to get in touch with our friends at ACE to book an assembly! Get creative with your ideas—but be realistic. Check out tips from last year’s winners in this video.

EXECUTE

How are you going to put your plan in motion? One thing to remember: the more the merrier! Recruit your classmates and offer incentives—like free food! Next, get your school administration on board. Tell them you’re trying to get as many people involved as possible and you’d love if the school would support your efforts!

Once you have a plan and people to help you with your project, DO IT!

REPORT BACK

When you’ve finished your project, be sure to report back with pictures and videos to let us know how it went. Be sure to submit your projects by April 1st, or you won’t be eligible to win our awesome prizes.

SPEAKING OF PRIZES…

Yep, prizes! We’ll be awarding five top schools with grants and HP Pavilion DM1 laptops. For full prizing info, check out our website. Our panel of expert judges will be evaluating each project based on:

    • The number of people involved. (The more the merrier, remember?!)
    • Creativity, innovation, and use of technology
    • Awareness raised!

ONE MONTH TO GO!

So you have all the info. How will YOU take action? Remember to get started soon—the campaign closes on April 1st!

Questions? No problem. Email me at [email protected] and I’ll do my best to get back to you in 24 hours. Good luck!
